Q: Are you insured to walk dogs professionally?
A: Yes. Walkies is insured to professionally walk and care for all pets. We are insured with specialist Cliverton Insurance . Our insurance covers public liability, custody and control of your pet and loss of keys.
Q: Can I meet you before you walk my dog?
A: Yes. Before taking you on as a client, we will come to your house and talk to you about your dogs specific requirements. We have a standard client details sheet and an off lead consent form to fill in if you require your dog to be walked off lead.
Q: Will my dog be supervised at all times?
A: Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision by experienced dog walkers, and will NEVER be left unattended.
Q: Do I need to book in the same days each week?
A: Yes. There is a minimum booking of 1 day per week on an ongoing basis. This doesn't necessarily need to be the same day each week, it is also possible to add additional days as required. requirements will be assessed when we come to meet you and your pet.
Q: Do you walk on the weekends and bank holidays?
A: We can walk any day, as long as we have some notice, if you have a last minute request we will try to accommodate although we cannot guarantee availability.
Q: Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?
A: No. Most clients are comfortable giving a set of keys to us at Walkies to enable us to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home.
Q: I have a puppy, Can you walk him?
A: Yes.. We accept puppies from as young as 12 weeks old or once they are out of their vaccination period. Please get in touch to find out more.
Q: What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?
A: Walkies only accepts social dogs for group walks. We take care to group dogs together, if your dog doesn't get along with another dog we would ensure they don't get walked together again.
Q: Do you only accept well-trained dogs?
A: No. In fact many owners have noticed improvement in their dog's behaviour after a few months of walking with us. We do not walk dogs with aggression issues with humans or other dogs.
Q:Do you walk dogs off the lead?
A: We do prefer to walk dogs off lead and we like to help strengthen a dogs recall skills, but if they are joining us with no recall, then we will make sure we are satisfied they will come to us before we let them off the lead. It is essential we have your consent to walk your dog off lead.
Q: What happens in an emergency?
A: First we will assess the situation and call you to discuss. If we can’t get hold of you and urgent medical attention is required, we will take your dog to your nominated veterinary practice or, depending on the circumstance, the nearest veterinary practice.
Q: How much time will my dog spend traveling?
A:We usually go for walks near to your location so the time spent in the vehicle is minimal. The hours walk starts from when we get to the park/common
Q: Do you board dogs or cats?
A: No unfortunately we don't at the moment, but we can arrange Pet sitting services for any length of holiday.
